United by Love - The Art of Cleaving in Marriage

Marriage, to me, feels like a testament to the profound connection that can exist between two people. It's this beautiful journey where we find not just companionship, but a partnership that's rooted in mutual growth and understanding. Together, we navigate the twists and turns of life, stronger as a united front than we ever could be alone.

I often reflect on the words from Genesis 2:24, "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh." This idea of "cleaving" really captures what marriage means to me. It's about forming this deep, unwavering bond where we're not just physically together, but emotionally and spiritually intertwined. It means opening up completely, sharing every joy and every challenge, every strength and every vulnerability. Our relationship isn't just about coexisting; it's about becoming so closely connected that our love and trust form the foundation of everything we are together.

But "cleave" has another side to it, one that talks about splitting or severing. Initially, this might seem at odds with the idea of marriage, but to me, it's a vital complement. It serves as a reminder that to truly nurture our bond, I must consciously let go of anything that could come between us. It's about making our partnership the priority and ensuring that nothing external can shake the bond we have. This act of severing isn't about loss but about creating a space where our relationship can flourish, free from any distractions or divisions.

For me, marriage is more than a commitment; it's a journey of intertwining our lives in such a way that we become a safe haven for each other. It's about embracing each other completely, without holding anything back, and fiercely protecting the sacredness of what we share. Sure, this journey comes with its fair share of challenges, but it's through facing these together that our bond grows even stronger and more resilient.

I believe in loving without limits, in not letting anything stand in the way of the deep connection that marriage brings. In this sacred union, I've found my strength, my refuge, and my greatest joy.
